Fred J. Schiffman has been chosen by his peers to receive the 2007 Charles C.J. Carpenter, M.D., Physician of the Year Award at The Miriam Hospital, where he has been on staff since 1983.
He was appointed medical director of Lifespan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2000.
He earned his M.D. at New York University School of Medicine and performed his internship, residency, chief residency and fellowship in hematology at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
