GTECH announces contract extension in Arizona

GTECH Holdings Corporation today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, has received a two-year extension of its current contract to provide online lottery and support services to the Arizona Lottery. The contract extension will commence on September 1, 2004.

“In the past year, customers in Missouri, Washington State, New Mexico, Kentucky, the Slovak Republic, and Singapore extended their contracts with GTECH,” said GTECH President and CEO W. Bruce Turner. “We are extremely pleased that the Arizona Lottery, too, has chosen to continue its partnership with GTECH, and we are appreciative of the demonstration of support and confidence on the part of the Lottery Commission.”

Under the terms of the contract extension, GTECH will maintain the Arizona Lottery’s existing terminal base of over 2,500 Isys® terminals. GTECH will continue to provide the Arizona Lottery with ongoing services, including operation and maintenance of the central system hardware and software, software support, marketing support, field services, and hotline management.

The Company will continue to operate from a data center in Phoenix and anticipates generating revenue of approximately $14 million over the two-year extension period.
