William Cioffi, MD has been appointed surgeon-in-chief for Rhode Island Hospital, and executive surgeon-in-chief for The Miriam Hospital. Cioffi now also serves as chairman of the department of surgery at Brown Medical School. He had been chief of trauma surgery at Rhode Island Hospital for seven years and had been an 11-year surgeon in the Army. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont and its medical school. Cioffi lives in Warwick with his wife.
