The East Bay Community Development Corporation’s (EBCDC) rehabilitation of the former Kaiser Mill has received a national housing award. The Franklin Court Assisted Living project was one of five to be honored for Excellence in Senior Housing by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition. It combines private apartments with support services such as meals, assistance with medications, housekeeping and help with personal care. 68 of the 92 apartments are reserved for residents earning no more than 60 percent of median family income.
