PROVIDENCE – A $200,000 federal grant for the state’s only occupational and environmental health center in Providence was celebrated last Thursday at an open house. The center, which opened in November 2000, offers occupational and environmental health clinical services, workplace evaluations, and educational programs to help employees and employers identify and avoid work-related injuries and disease. The grant was obtained by Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-RI, for inclusion in the Fiscal Year 2002 federal budget.
