Local metal refiner buys Phoenix facility

CRANSTON — Gannon & Scott, a leading refiner and assayer of precious metals
based in Cranston announced the purchase of Handy & Harman Refining Group’s
Phoenix, Ariz. precious metals processing facility and equipment. According to
officials at Gannon & Scott, the sale expands the company’s capacity, capabilities,
customer reach and range of service. The acquisition also broadens the company’s
electronics and industrial oriented customer bases, as well as adding to the company’s
thermal reduction capacities.
