The price for a gallon of gasoline has fallen for a second consecutive week, according to weekly surveys conducted by AAA Southern New England and the Rhode Island State Energy Office.
AAA’s June 18 survey found the average price per gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $1.73 (three cents down from last week, and five cents down from two weeks ago) — with prices as low as $1.49 and as high as $1.82. The auto club found the average price per gallon of self-serve midgrade gasoline to be $1.83 (ranging from $1.59 to $1.90); for premium, $1.91 (ranging from $1.65 to $1.98); and for diesel, $1.65 (ranging from $1.60 to $1.69).

For full-service gasoline, the auto club found the average price per gallon of regular unleaded to be $1.83 (ranging from $1.69 to $2.09); for midgrade, $1.92 (ranging from $1.83 to $2.19); for premium, $2.01 (ranging from $1.88 to $2.27); and for diesel, $1.68 (ranging from $1.60 to $1.89).
The State Energy Office found the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded to be $1.76 — down two cents from the department’s week-ago survey. Prices for self-serve regular ranged from $1.60 to $1.82. For self-serve midgrade, the department found the average price to be $1.87 (ranging from $1.73 to $1.92); and for premium, $1.95 (ranging from $1.86 to $1.98).
For full-serve gasoline, the Energy Office found the average price per gallon to be $1.94 for regular (ranging from $1.79 to $2.15); for midgrade, $2.02 (ranging from $1.86 to $2.25); and for premium, $2.10 (ranging from $1.96 to $2.30).
The Energy Office, which only gives one average price for diesel fuel, found that number to be $1.72 per gallon.
