R.I.-based TowerStream teams with Vonage

TowerStream Corp, a Middletown-based wireless-broadband service provider, has teamed with Vonage Holding Corp. to sell Web calling to companies, Bloomberg News has reported.

TowerStream’s wireless networks allow business clients to
prioritize Voice-over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, calls over other
data traffic, improving quality. The company has as many as 800
corporate clients.

TowerStream will work with Vonage to provide businesses with cheaper
Internet calling services.

Vonage will offer TowerStream customers its flat-rate unlimited long-distance calling service in cities including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco, TowerStream said yesterday in a statement. The agreement with TowerStream
allows Vonage to expand its marketing to business customers.

Vonage, based in Edison, N.J., has more than 800,000 Internet calling subscribers who get their high-speed Web access from cable or phone companies.
