Verizon plans to market R.I. to businesses

PROVIDENCE — Verizon Communications has announced a $100,000 marketing campaign
to promote Rhode Island and two other regions for business. Verizon will work
with the state’s Economic Development Corporation to set up an appropriate campaign.
The other areas to be promoted are a section of Vermont and the Buffalo, New York-Niagara Frontier region. The plan is to persuade businesses to move to Rhode
Island through video spots and brochures.
