Washington Trust Co. today officially opened its 16th branch at 236 Centerville Road in Warwick, as the 203-year old bank continues its push into central Rhode Island.
John C. Warren, chairman and chief executive officer of Washington Trust, said the opening of the 7,400 square-foot branch marks a milestone in the bank’s strategy to growth its market area through geographic expansion.

“Of all the initiatives Washington Trust is taking this year, the most visible is our entrance into the Warwick market,” Warren said in a news release announcing the opening. The bank also recently has opened Providence and Cranston locations.
