Washington Trust plans Warwick expansion

The Washington Trust Company, a subsidiary of Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: WASH), today announced the Bank’s interest in building a full-service branch office at 236 Centerville Road (Route 117) near the Apponaug section of Warwick. The branch is subject to the approval of local authorities, as well as state and federal regulators. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2002, the 7,300 square foot, two-story facility features a traditional New England style design. The Warwick branch will be the Bank’s 14th and its first office in Kent County.

The Warwick branch will be staffed by 15 employees and will offer a full range of deposit and loan services for businesses and consumers, as well as trust and investment management services. The branch will also feature the conveniences of walk-up and drive-up ATMs and multiple-lane drive-through banking.
