John Karchner has been appointed to the board of directors for the Rhode Island Hospitality Association. He currently serves as the general manager of the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel & Spa, where he is responsible for all hotel operations, sales and marketing and human resources. Karchner graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in hotel and restaurant management. •
