Michael C. McDermott has been named sports editor at The Providence Journal. McDermott has worked at The Providence Journal since 2003. He began as a copy editor and worked in a variety of roles in the news and sports departments before most recently serving as the assistant sports editor/Web producer. McDermott has a B.A. in journalism from Northeastern University.
