David M. Wax has been named board member for the R.I. State Council on the Arts. Most recently, he served as executive director of the Rhode Island Philharmonic from 2001 to 2008 and has more than 30 years of experience in orchestra management. Wax has held senior management positions with numerous symphonies and currently works as an arts management consultant. He has a Ph.D. from Harvard University. •
