CVS Corp. (NYSE:CVS) today announced that total revenues for the four-week period ended July 29 increased 27.5 percent to $3.4 billion, compared to $2.7 billion in the prior year period, including the impact of the June 2 acquisition of 701 standalone Sav-On and Osco drugstores.
Total pharmacy revenues represented 69.7 percent of total company revenues in July. Same store sales (sales from stores open more than one year) for the four weeks ended July 29 increased 9.5 percent more than the prior year period. Pharmacy same store sales increased 10.6%.

Year-to-date, total revenues for the thirty-week period ended July 29 increased 14.2 percent to $23.9 billion, compared to $21 billion in 2005. Same store sales for the thirty-week period increased 7.7 percent more than the prior year period. Pharmacy same store sales increased 8.3 percent, while front-end same store sales increased 6.5 percent.
CVS is America’s largest retail pharmacy chain, operating 6,171 retail and specialty pharmacy stores in 43 states and the District of Columbia as of July 29.
