Mary Lou Roberge, RN of The Miriam Hospital in Providence has received the Jaffe Foundation Award for Excellence in Nursing. The award, established in 1986, is given to recognize excellence and commitment to the nursing profession at the hospital. A hematology/oncology nurse on unit 4B, she was one of 16 people nominated for the award. Roberge began her career at Miriam as a nurse in the medical surgical unit in 1980 and moved to the hematology/oncology unit in 1985. She is a 1979 graduate of Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a resident of South Attleboro, Massachusetts.
