Candlelight vigil to be held tonight at Rhode Island State House

From the Office of the Governor:

Governor Lincoln Almond joins the state’s General Officers and General Assembly leadership in inviting all Rhode Islanders to a candlelight vigil in memory of the victims of Tuesday’s terrorist attack.

The vigil will be held tonight at 8 p.m. on the south steps of the State House. The ceremonies are being coordinated through the Offices of the Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State with assistance from the Governor’s office.

In addition, Almond noted that the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency continues to coordinate the state’s efforts to respond to requests for assistance from New York and Washington, D.C.
