The RI MEDIATORS ASSOCIATION is sponsoring a Workshop on “Difficult Conversations” on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Board Room, Roger Williams University, 150 Washington Street, Providence, RI. The workshop instructor is Bruce I. Kogan, Professor & Mediation Clinic Director, Roger Williams University School of Law. The workshop is for mediators, counselors, attorneys and other professionals who assist “people in conflict” including family members.
“People in conflict frequently have topics that they find extremely difficult to discuss” says Professor Kogan. He adds: “Parties cannot engage in a productive discussion or they cannot bring up the topic a second time. Such topics can lead to confrontations. Mediators and other professionals require special skills to provide the parties with a framework for such conversations.”
