Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have increased for the fifth consecutive week, this time by just a penny, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s weekly survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.07 per gallon, one cent more than last week. Prices have risen 17 cents during those five weeks, leaving them just six cents short of the all-time high of $2.13 on June 7. A year ago at this time the average price was $1.68.

The price of diesel fuel continues to rise at a rapid pace, now averaging $2.33 for self-serve, up six cents from a week ago and 33 cents in the last five weeks.
Gasoline prices continue to vary dramatically from station to station – from $2.00 to $2.13 this week for self-serve unleaded gasoline, according to AAA. Premium unleaded is selling for $2.16 to $2.36.
