James Tiernan was recently hired at Bank Rhode Island as senior vice president. Tiernan heads a lending team within the bank’s Business Lending Unit responsible for the management and development of a commercial loan portfolio. He had been a commercial lender with Citizens Bank. A North Kingstown resident, Tiernan graduated from the University of Rhode Island. He is also a Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster with Saunderstown Troop One and is a director of the Narragansett Lions Club and the URI Fifth Quarter Club.
