PROVIDENCE – Upserve, the restaurant management service provider, last week announced reaching several business milestones, including its management of more than $11 billion in annual restaurant sales transactions.

Restaurants worldwide use Upserve to manage relationships with more than 32 million active diners involving more than 23 million meals each month, representing growth of more than 100 percent in the last year and making Upserve the largest provider of cloud-based point of sale and analytics for the independent restaurant industry.

The announcement follows Upserve’s launch in March of the Upserve Marketplace as a “one-stop shop” for restaurant technology services, and its acquisition last year of the Breadcrumb point-of-sale service from Groupon.

“We’re thrilled by our huge growth momentum as restaurants flock from 1990s-era, expensive and clunky point of sale and restaurant technology to our modern, open, affordable, cloud-based platform,” said Angus Davis, founder and CEO of Upserve. “Breadcrumb POS is easier to use and frees managers from the back office, while Upserve HQ provides data-backed insights to give restaurants a leg up on the floor, in their market and with guests.”

In addition to achieving these new milestones, Upserve announced several new partner services, including the Menufy and Open Dining online food delivery services; BevSpot, MarketMan and PlateIQ inventory management and invoice systems; and Opticard and Swipe It integrated gift card and loyalty programs.

Upserve’s network of affiliated partners now includes more than 30 programs and services, the company said, making it the largest marketplace of integrations for any cloud-based restaurant point-of-sale system.

The Providence startup also recently expanded its services for multi-location restaurants to allow greater visibility, management and communication for its mid-market and enterprise-sized clients. New services include multi-location menu optimization to help restaurateurs manage and compare menu performance across locations, fully integrated support for the Epson Kitchen Display System, and a new mobile version of Upserve’s Logbook feature to allow managers and owners to review restaurant reports from their phones.
