JOHNSTON – A-Stone Inc., a family-operated supplier of natural stone for exterior and interior use, yesterday announced that, for every kitchen counter it sells before Dec. 31, the company will donate $100 to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
This “is a popular time of year for upgrading a kitchen, as the holidays approach,” said Paula Abatecola-Corsi, vice president of A-Stone, “and we’re able to offer competitive package pricing for granite countertops, fabrication and installation. It’s a way for our customers to help donate to a great cause while updating their homes.”

Through its network of nearly 400 member agencies, the Food Bank distributes nine million pounds of food to people statewide, about one-third of those people are children. Last year, it helped more than 50,000 Rhode Islanders.
“As we prepare our holiday meals to enjoy with family and friends, many of us don’t realize that there are people right in our own state who go hungry every day,” Abatecola-Corsi said. “The Food Bank does so much to help the less fortunate, and we are pleased to be able to give back to the community in this way. We’re hoping this will become a new A-Stone tradition.”
