Woonsocket-based CVS Corp. plans to install more than 4,000 Hypercom Corp. card-payment terminals in more than 450 new stores.
CVS plans to use the terminals in the first quarter of 2002, after initial field tests are completed.

The terminals will be able to perform a number of electronic payment functions, including processing of debit, credit, EBT and gift cards. It will also offer electronic signature, and receipt display, and on-screen advertising.
