Andrew C. Hewitt has been appointed senior vice president at Bank of Newport. He will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s financial functions including purchasing, facilities and security. He previously served as vice president of commercial banking at Huntington Bancshares in Columbus, Ohio, where he was employed for ten years. Hewitt graduated from St. George’s School in Newport and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Colorado in 1976. He received a master’s degree in business administration in 1981 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a certified public accountant and resides in South Kingstown with his wife Sandy and their four children.
