After rising three cents per gallon a week ago, the average local price of gasoline has risen another eight cents per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England.
The auto club’s April 16 survey of Rhode Island gasoline prices found the average price per gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $1.58 — 11 cents more than on the April 2 survey.

The average price per gallon for self-serve midgrade gasoline was $1.68; for premium, $1.76; and for diesel, $1.68. The average price per gallon for full-serve gasoline was $1.67 for regular; $1.77 for midgrade; $1.86 for premium; and $1.69 for diesel.
