The latest survey by AAA Southern New England has found gasoline prices dropped again in Rhode Island, now averaging $1.48 per gallon for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline.
According to the auto club, that price is two cents lower than last week’s number. Current prices for midgrade, premium and diesel self-serve now average $1.58, $1.67, and $1.54, respectively, the auto club found.

AAA’s latest survey found the average prices per gallon of full-serve gasoline to be $1.56 for regular; $1.68 for midgrade; $1.78 for premium; and $1.62 for diesel.
Figures released by the State Energy Office had gasoline prices averaging higher than AAA’s numbers. However, the office’s current numbers were mostly down from its own week-ago findings. For self-serve gasoline, the office found regular averaging $1.54; midgrade averaging $1.59; and premium averaging $1.67. For full-serve gasoline, the office found regular averaging $1.70; midgrade averaging $1.79; and premium averaging $1.87. It found the average price for diesel fuel to be $1.60.
