Brian Maynard, professor of horticulture at the University of Rhode Island, has been named fellow of the International Plant Propagator’s Society- Eastern Region. He was recognized for developing new technologies for growing stock plants. Maynard has found new methods of rooting the plants to reduce water usage. He has also discovered ways to reduce chemical exposure among nursery employees. Maynard lives in Peace Dale.
