Community Leadership

Robert T. Gormley, president and CEO of Citizens Bank of Rhode Island and Citizens
Bank of Connecticut, has received the 2001 Community Leadership Award. This award
is presented annually by Capital City Community Centers of Providence to an outstanding
leader in the community. He has been active with local fund-raising and community
revitalization efforts throughout his career. Gormley is a member of the Rhode
Island Economic Development Council and a board member of the Providence Foundation
and the United Way of Southeastern New England. He also serves on Junior Achievement
of Rhode Island’s CEO advisory committee and Providence College’s President’s
Council. He is a graduate of Providence College and a resident of East Greenwich.
