ACCOUNTING Donna Slater has been promoted to manager at Piccerelli, Gilsten & Company of Providence. She has been with the firm for seven years and is responsible for a variety of clients, concentrating in closely held businesses and nonprofit organizations. BANKING Michael Lynch was recently hired to be vice president of lending at Westerly Community Credit Union. He has 11 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently as area manager with Chartway Federal Credit Union. Lynch, a Providence College graduate, oversees all aspects of the lending department. He lives in Newport. Debra Olsen has been hired to be branch manager at Westerly Community Credit Union. She manages all departments in the bank’s office located on Post Road in Westerly. She has nearly 20 years experience, mostly with the Washington Trust Company where she was a branch manager in Mystic, Conn. Olsen lives in Westerly with her family. Jeanne Abate was recently hired as manager of lending at the Westerly Community Credit Union. She directs day-to-day operations in the lending department. Abate has more than 30 years experience in the financial industry, most recently with the Peoples Mortgage Corporation. She has an associate’s degree from the Community College of Rhode Island and lives in Westerly with her children. Michael Clarkin was recently promoted to senior vice president/commercial banking at Citizens Bank. Clarkin is senior finance manager for Citizens’ corporate banking groups in Rhode Island and Connecticut. A graduate of Bryant College with degrees in management and accounting, he joined Citizens in 1993 from Fleet/Norstar Group. Clarkin is treasurer of the Minority Investment Development Company in Providence, treasurer of St. Luke’s Parish CYO in Barrington, and a member of the board of the Diocese of Providence loan committee. He lives in Barrington with his family. Maura Keegan Fairbanks has been promoted to senior vice president and director of branch administration for Rhode Island and Connecticut at Citizens Bank. She joined Citizens in July from FleetBoston Financial. Fairbanks is a 1985 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and is a resident of Bristol. MISCELLANEOUS Steve Kitchin, of Swansea, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at the Workforce Partnership of Greater Rhode Island. Kitchin is vice president for corporate education and training at New England Institute of Technology. He directs the school’s Center for Technology and Industry, which runs contract-training programs for EMC, Leviton, Pfizer, and Beacon Mutual Insurance, among others. He also is a consultant for Junior Achievement of Rhode Island and is the incoming chairman for the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
