PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless will host a conference about homelessness and affordable housing on Monday, Nov. 9 at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick.
The Yes We Will Conference will consist of a series of workshops capped by an evening reception. Workshop topics include “Reaching the Chronic Homeless: Effective Outreach & Engagement Strategies,” “Communication: Engagement & Rapport Building” and “Adaptive Governance: The New Work of the Board.”

The conference’s keynote speaker is Makani Themba-Nixon, executive director of The Praxis Project, a nonprofit organization that helps communities use the media and policy to advance health equity and justice.
A luncheon panel will feature leaders from the nonprofit sector who will discuss the impact of the recession on nonprofits. Panelists include the executive directors of the Rhode Island Foundation and United Way of Rhode Island and the editor in chief of Nonprofit Quarterly.
