Geoffrey A. Ballou has been promoted to chief operating officer at New England Construction of Rumford. He will oversee all day-to-day operations, including design division activities, construction project management, estimating, scheduling, accounting, staffing and business analysis. He joined the company in 1990 as project manager, was promoted to senior project manager in 1992, and has been vice president of operations since 1997. Ballou was formerly employed at A. Calcagni Construction of Smithfield as project manager and Corner & Lada of Cranston as design engineer. He is a graduate of the Wentworth Institute in Boston in 1980 with an associate’s degree in engineering and Roger Williams College with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
