E. Rae Ferguson has been appointed to the board of directors for the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. Ferguson is currently a professor of history and African American studies at the University of Rhode Island. She has received several honors, including an NEH Summer Seminar Fellowship at the W.E.B. DuBois Institute at Harvard University. •
