Anne Travis Brownley has been appointed head of the Upper School at The Wheeler School of Providence. She previously served as dean of students at San Francisco University High School, and has served on the faculties of The Winsor School in Boston, Mass. and the Groton School in Groton, Mass. Brownley received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Virginia and her master’s degree in liberal studies from Dartmouth College. She has been a Fellow at the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Joseph Klingenstein Summer Institute and a presenter at the national conference of the National Association of Independent Schools.
