with Summit Bancorp, FleetBoston Financial Corporation has consolidated 80 branches
and one autobank facility in New Jersey. The consolidation consists of 47 Fleet
branches and 33 former Summit Bank branches. Of the 80 consolidating branches,
the average distance to a nearby Fleet branch is half a mile.
