MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (BUSINESS WIRE) — General Physics (GP), a wholly owned operating subsidiary of Columbia, Md.-based GP Strategies Corporation, has won a five-year contract with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport.
Under the contract, which took effect on December 27, GP’s Process and Energy Group will assist the Navy in material inventory management, related web-based administration and life-cycle support for the Warfare Center’s torpedo programs.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
According to Richard Beplat, New England director of technical services for GP, the project represents some 11,500 man-hours per year over the life of the contract. GP has more than 25 Department of Defense contracts for Air Force, Army and Navy activities nationwide, Beplat said.
