GTECH settles arbitration

WEST GREENWICH — GTECH announced last week that it has successfully resolved
an arbitration between SAZKA, the operator of the most successful lottery games
in the CZECH Republic. As a result of this resolution, GTECH and SAZKA have extended
their contract until Dec. 31, 2005. GTECH and SAZKA have also agreed to form two
joint companies in relation to future disposition of existing infrastructure supporting
SAZKA in exchange for certain payments.
