PROVIDENCE – LottoTech Ltd. has selected GTECH Corp. to assist it with the installation and operation of a national online and instant-ticket lottery system on the African island of Mauritius.
The country of Mauritius, located approximately 560 miles east of Madagascar, awarded the 10-year license to LottoTech after a competitive bidding process. LottoTech will operate the lottery system until April 15, 2019.
Under the terms of the license, GTECH will provide LottoTech with a lottery system technology platform as well as 600 lottery terminals, GTECH said in the statement.
The system is expected to go live in October, with a lottery game released first, followed by instant games. •
