James Berson has been named chief operating officer at The Providence Center, a behavioral health organization serving adults, children, adolescents and families with mental illness, emotional problems, substance abuse and behavioral problems. He will oversee the daily internal operations of the Providence Center, which employs nearly 450 people and operates four service locations. Berson began working at The Providence Center in 1993 as manager of the research and development program, and has served as director of program development, planning and research since 1997. He is a graduate of Brown University and the Boston University School of Public Health. He resides in North Kingstown.
