David B. Soforenko has been promoted to vice president at Starkweather & Shepley, Inc. of East Providence. He will be responsible for commercial insurance sales. He rejoined Starkweather & Shepley in 1997 and was promoted to assistant vice president in 1998. From 1992 to 1997, he was general manager of Essex Manufacturing Co., Inc. of Fall River, Mass. Soforenko earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1987. He is active in the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island, serving as young leadership chair and young adult campaign chair. He also serves on the board of directors of Temple Beth El of Providence. He resides in Cumberland with his wife Kristin and their two children.
