James McDermott has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager at Amica Life. He has been a fellow of the Life Management Institute since 1992. McDermott is a member of the Small Companies Committee for the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association. A Cumberland resident and graduate of the University of New Hampshire, McDermott began working for Amica Life in 1983 as a marketing research analyst.
