James H. Miller, chair of ocean engineering at the University of Rhode Island, has been elected member of the executive council of the Acoustical Society of America. Miller conducts research and teaches courses in acoustical oceanography, marine bio-acoustics, ocean data analysis, modeling and underwater vehicle design. •
