Jane S. Nelson has been named 2003 Person of the Year at The Miriam Hospital
in Providence. A member of the hospital’s Women’s Association for more than
50 years, Nelson was named its president in 1966. She became the first woman
to be named and honorary trustee for life in 1988. Nelson served on the hospital’s
investment and professional and academic affairs committees, as well as the
Foundation Development Committee. She lives in Providence.
