Maria Younes received the 2002 St. Joseph Health Services 2002 Bishop’s Leadership Award. The award is given annually to a member of St. Joseph’s Hospital’s medical staff who has gone beyond their normal course of duty to further the organization’s mission and ministry to the under-served. Younes volunteers her time to operate a monthly pediatric neurology clinic at St. Joseph Hospital’s community health center in Providence. The health center provides prenatal, pediatric and adult primary care programs as well as specialty services. Younes is a resident of Cumberland.
