Massachusetts Governor Mitt
Romney said the state is helping to establish an industrial park
for technology companies near Hanscom Air Force Base, the last
active-duty Air Force base in New England, to add jobs.
Fuji Microdisks USA Inc., a subsidiary of Valhalla, New York-
based Fuji Photo Film Co., will anchor the park and spend $35
million to double its manufacturing capacity of computer tape
cartridges and storage data there, adding up to 100 new jobs.

Romney, a Republican and former chairman of Bain Capital LLC,
made the announcement while speaking to the Greater Boston Chamber
of Commerce.
“This is just one example of how companies want to be in
Massachusetts for technology,” Romney said to reporters after his
speech, in which he reiterated his anti-tax stance and his desire
to make the state more attractive to businesses.
Romney said creation of the 440-acre industrial park near
Hanscom, which is northwest of Boston, will help the base’s
chances of surviving a federal review in which the military
intends to close a quarter of its bases.
