Maynard start-up reports new financing

MAYNARD, Mass. — AP Engines, a start-up company that sells software that allows
companies to use existing billing systems to charge for advanced systems announced
that it has acquired $30 million in new venture and debt financing, the Boston
Globe reported. Providing the financing are Thomas Weisel Capital Partners, as
leader in the $25 million venture round, which includes Enroad Broadband Services,
Atlas Venture, and Bessemer Venture Partners, among others. Also, Lighthouse Capital
Partners is taking an unspecified venture investment, plus $5 million in subordinated
debt, the Globe reported. AP Engines will use the investments to help develop
new software and begin new sales efforts.
