Chris Avella has been named director of public relations at the Salvation Army Rhode Island State Office in Providence. She will be responsible for special events, including the Christmas Kettle Campaign, public relations coordination and volunteer activities in the local communities. She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University and the National Graduate School of Quality Management.
