Deborah M. Brayton has been named legislative director for the Washington D.C. office of Senator Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I. She was formerly employed as executive director of Amos House in Providence. She also served as executive director of Very Special Arts R.I., and arts program for children and adults with special needs, audience development and publicity director of the theatre department at the University of Rhode Island, group sales manager at Theatre by the Sea, and paralegal at Rhode Island Legal Service. Brayton is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island and a board member of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. She has previously served on the advisory board of the Perishable Theatre, the South County Emergency Shelter, Alliance for the Arts in Education, Sunrise Community Housing, and was a member of the Town of South Kingstown Planning Board.
