Robert F. Stoico, chairman, president and CEO of Firstfed America Bancorp, recently passed a major milestone – 25 years as president of Firstfed. When Stoico became president, the company, then First Federal Savings and Loan of Fall River, consisted of 31 employees and three offices. There were no ATMs, no NOW accounts and no Internet. Total assets were $100 million. Now, assets are $1.7 billion and there are 16 offices with more than 400 employees.
