Scott Pickering has been named general manager at East Bay Newspapers. He will oversee all day-to-day operations of the company. Prior to his appointment, Pickering was a regional editor for Patch.com. He had previously spent 16 years with East Bay Newspapers. Pickering is a past president of the Rhode Island Press Association. He has an MBA from Babson College. •
