Shelley Cortese has been named assistant administrator, probation and parole, for the R.I. Department of Corrections.
She will co-manage the adult probation and parole unit, sharing in the oversight of 130 full-time staff and nearly 27,000 people who are under the DOC’s supervision in the community.
Cortese has been in state service since 2000, when she became a social caseworker with the R.I. Department of Children, Youth and Families.
